Day-tripping around Ubud and eastwards

On Sunday I hired Wayan, the driver, to tour me around some bits of Bali. Specifically I wanted to see a non-touristy beach, a lovely waterfall, and some temples. Wayan suggested Bias Tugel. I looked it up and it looked perfect, relatively small and secluded without all the hustle and hype of the popular resort areas like Kuta and Seminyak. Has it really been just three days? Travel has that effect where every day stretches into new dimensions. With no routine to speak of, your sense of a “day” loses its familiar frame of reference, and you’re left baffled by how much or how little time you somehow have left on the clock.
